Hi Ryan.  There is a group of guys I know that play at Central Texas College on Monday and Thursday nights. I know one them is a 4.0 player and the rest are about the same. They are always happy to have new people join them.  If you would like me to have one of them contact you, please email me your contact information - [edit: please share private info via PM. thanks.] .  If you're not comfortable with that, I'm normally out there on Mondays.  I'd be happy to introduce you if you'd prefer the security of a public meeting.

Hi Missy! Thank you so much for your advice! It's very helpful. I would love to look into taking some lessons before I hit so this is great info. I'll keep your contact info if that's OK and contact you when I get some more skills on the court! My weeknight schedule can be a bit erratic so I may look into Georgetown first, as well as the city of Temple. Thanks again!

As far as lessons go, there are a couple of different options depending on where you live and what you're looking for.  If you are in the Temple Belton area, the city of Temple has a program through their parks & rec department.  Also Wildflower Country Club in Temple has tennis lessons, league play and drills.

In the Fort Hood-Killeen-Harker Heights area, Peloton Ridge Country Club has a program offering drill groups and private lessons.  The pro's name is Jeff and you can reach him at 254-493-0217. If you are looking for something less formal, I know several players that would be willing to work with you.

If you would have a hard time doing a week night program, your best bet may be to contact the Georgetown Tennis Center.  They have a beginner class on Saturday mornings. The number is 512-931-2444. They also have a stroke clinic on Thursday evenings that has been very helpful in improving my ground strokes.

Looking for female players in the Cove-Killeen-Temple area for recreational play.  2.5 - 3.5 level, singles or doubles. Evenings or Sundays only.
