New! Someone kindly help?

Hi, I just started playing tennis and it's quite difficult..

It's also difficult when all your friends are also beginners and there's more of picking up the balls than actually hitting them...

So, if there's anyone who is patient enough and enjoys teaching a beginner who might be terrible at tennis, please do message me :)

Before you start taking lessons from anybody, I'd suggest just continuing to play more in order to familiarize yourself with the game. That way when you do get lessons, you'll have some experience to grow from.

Some tips to get you started:

Start out with learning to predicting where the ball's going to go and developing hand-eye coordination/grip strength for control. Without working on these first, I'd say lessons wouldn't help all that much just yet.
Standing on the service line and play "service line-to-service line" tennis. This way, you can use your arm strength for controlling rather than for powering the ball to the other side. Even more-seasoned players can use this to improve their more advanced shots later on.</.i>
If you feel like you're spending a lot of time picking up the balls, just get more. Beginners don't need to worry about using ones that've started going flat, so just keep saving them up.

Great advice Kevin.

Also, try to find a tennis backboard or wall to hit against. You get way more hits and less waiting and chasing balls. Do this for a while and then take a lesson or find someone intermediate to hit with.

I've been doing all that by myself.

I'm posting this because now I need someone to hit back.

It's hard to know where the ball will land in the court you constantly just hit against a wall.

You should checkout classes at local colleges. They are not that expensive and have a lot of other people to play with and have a lot more balls before picking up again.

I like to find a decent backboard myself but that is very hard to find. I have no luck so far. Let me know if you know of any.
