Winter Tennis???

I haven't moved to NYC, yet, but will in the summer. So what do people do for "outdoor" tennis in the winter? (I don't like playing indoors). I'm used to bundling up, gloves and all, and hitting the courts. Here, in The Netherlands, which isn't as cold as NY, I play two or three times a week in the winter. Are most courts closed in NY? What do you folks do? Please reply with info :)
