I have been playing at San Pablo Park in Berkeley / Oakland border. As much as I love the community and the people there who are so friendly and always asking to hit and play doubles, I feel like I need to hit with someone more my level. I find receiving really fast balls with a lot of topspin detrimental to my swing and form because I end up rushing and using too much arm. Looking for someone around a 2.5 I think. I played some in my childhood and so have pretty good form and a feel for the ball. I want to improve on my timing / volleys / backhand / and serve and looking for someone who wouldn't mind hitting some medium paced shots to help me strengthen those areas. Some days, I feel like I am a 3 player but can be inconsistent with my placement. I like analyzing technique and getting and giving pointers and experimenting and improving my game. I have a vehicle and can get around to different neighborhoods. Weeknights 5pm and after are ideal for me.

I'm trying to get back into tennis after a long absence. I live in Berkeley. I'm not sure what my level is, maybe 2.5 or 3, but I'm also trying to improve on consistency and shots. Day phone 510-970-2010, night/w/e 510-558-0485.
Great thanks for the replies. I will get in touch when it finally stops raining and we can go out and hit.
This sounds exactly right: it's the perfect place to play and we both want
to work on playing better. Not sure when you have free time - or if you
still want partners for tennis. I'm free mornings, Fridays, & weekends
