NYC Parks Dept. tennis fees for 2011

I assume this has been discussed to death around here, but I'm disgusted with the fact they raised the fees to $200 per year!!! $100 was steep for the six months or so the weather even permits playing outdoors and it's not like the courts are all that great and well-kept or lit at night! What gives???

I just moved back to the city from Michigan (okay I know lots more space and open fields), but the courts were always free there were plenty of them around (over 9 at the local high school that were used when the teams weren't practicing) and the city maintained them beautifully. 

Don't we pay enough taxes without this exorbitant increase? I understand the USTA did NOTHING in support of city players with regards to this.

It's enough to make me want to leave the city again.
