Pro players are using smaller grips?
That's what I heard......nadal I hear removed the leather grip and uses two layers of overgrip instead? Hear his grip size is a 4 1/4 but after removing the original grip must be exceedingly small....for more control?

When you say 4 grip changing to 3....what is this in reference to....

Im think it's the grip size...:
1/8 = 1
2/8 (1/4) = 2,
3/8 = 3
4/8 (1/2) = 4
5/8 = 5

Yeah more wrist action....provides more flexibility and maneuverability.......I totally see that...
