Incorporating footwork drills for people who dislike it...

Need advice people...

I am helping a friend work with his teenage son to be a better tennis player, of course. I personally think the area his son needs improvement is movement and footwork. He's a good player and movement is just a small weakness. My friend said that he's son does not like footwork drills, but I managed to talk him into doing 1 suicide race with me. (I think he did it because I'm female..guess it's an ego thing)

Anyways, I remember when I was in high school and some of the footwork drills, but not only a handful. I remember doing the spider drill where you pick up balls from different parts of the courts and place them on your racquet and get timed, then do it again putting the balls back.

What other drills would be good to motivate a young teenager? Down and backs on half the court? split step drills? ladder drills with high-knees?  Let me hear your thoughts on this one.
