    Hi Dan!

We are all very excited to have created this "community-based" tennis social network which puts the focus on the members. We launched Tennisopolis just three weeks ago, so you are a charter member. :-)

To get started, please upload a photo or avatar for yourself (if you haven’t already.) Whether it's of you, your dog, your racquet it doesn't matter, but it helps people remember you. You can also personalize Your Page with pictures, links, RSS feeds, colors and more here.

If you are looking to meet people for tennis matches, Look through the Groups or create a Group of your own and invite your tennis contacts. It's a good place to keep in touch with everyone in your circle.

Tennisopolis is also a great place to network with people all across the country and talk about this game we love.

    Other places to explore:
    - come talk tennis in the forum
    - add your own photos
    - post your own blog entries.

…and just hang out and meet great people.

    Welcome aboard,
    Mark

I live in Waikiki, so I usually play at Ft. Derussy, Kapiolani, Diamond Head, or Ala Moana. I just got rated as a 4.0. How about yourself? If you ever want to hit, my # is 447-9039

Thanks for taking initiative to set up the group,

    Eric

I live on the north shore. Would say I am about a 4.0 but not officially rated. I have played tennis for many years but not very much recently and would love to find someone to play with regularly on the north shore.
    Thanks for setting this up.

    Aloha Dan

I happened upon Oahu Tennis Players because I'm looking for more people to hit with. Hope that's ok.
  • Liz

I play at Central Oahu mostly but am willing to play anywhere. Maybe the weekend would be better for us. Do you prefer doubles or singles? I'm trying to up my rating to 3.0, so any help from you would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Dan,

Hey stranger, long timenow see, it has been atleast 4 hours, haha. Nice seeing you here. I would like to find mroe people to play with. Perhaps some singles. I really do have a hard time playing doubles with focus and all... But today was great.. Have a good one and see you soon.

    Hey Dan the man,

How is my car doing? Let me know anytime you need someone to take her for a ride to the Northsore sometime, haha. Last time I took my friends g/f, I was like a kid in the sandbox. Sweet car always loved the Audi TT. Anyhow was curious what time you wanted to get together today for tennis? I would love to get out there earlier and practice before everyone else gets there. Perhaps we can try to get everyone to practice atleast one day a week like we discussed last week. We don't get any better unless we practice the things we need to.

    Later Buddy,

    Scotty B.

    Dan the man,

Too bad you weren't around today... You would have seen a gentle side of me I didn't know I had. I have never been known to be gentle Ben and It did feel good again to just go and have a nice time playing with everyone and just enjoying everything. It really was a wonderful day and close matches. I started hitting my two hand backhand yesterday and again today and had some pretty awesome shots, especially off Shawn's first serve. It still of course feels a little wierd, but I am trying to work through it and stick with it. It is not easy, but it sure feels good again to want someone to serve to my backhand. I know you wanted to work on a two handed backhand again. Let me know when you want a day to do it. Hopefully you will be there tomorrow morning. Lefty Dave is coming tomorrow and then his friends are having a party for him and his g/f in the afternoon before they leave to the mainland. Ok bud see you tomorrow.

Thank you so much, Dan! It's so nice of you to enlighten me on what NTRP is! I'll read up on it!

    Hey Dan,
Today was definitely an easy day. I will try the same the next time I play to be as relatively consistant trying to keep the ball in play and the right shots. The net volleying really helped a lot. You know me, I usually miss most of my net shots and that really kills me so bad. Being competitive I beat the crap out of myself, noone has to critisize me, I do a # on myself already. Anyhow I would like to ge together anytime you want to practice. Most guys we play with say they want to practice, but actions speak loader than words.
It is funny Sean made a comment about my serve today about getting better. I alway thought I had a nice serve, it is just hard for me to be consistant in doubles.
I never needed a second serve, but now with my shoulder I really do swing hard, but with a little more topspin. Ok bud see you tomorrow before Dave's party at Cisco's Cantina.

    Later Buddy,

    Scotty B.

Hey Dan I just thought to myself, I can't believe I haven't broke any strings in over 2 weeks or close to that anyhow. Not too bad. I do think this tension is working, but we can always adjust each new strings one lb less every time just to see. I do think these strings hit fine.

    Later Dan the man,

    Dan the man,

Yesterday was a great day for doubles after my 3 and a half hours of singles. Singles was great and the doubles was great with you, Gene and Jim. I wish it was us four every day, that would be nice. It would be easy to get my level back a lot faster. That last set I enjoyed with my fellow lefty, we came back and took care of business in the tie breaker. 7 straight points to finish them off. Anyhow hopefully you'll be around tomorrow or definitely saturday.

    Later Buddy,

    Scotty B.

    Hey Dan,
Well, you know I broke my strings yesterday and of course you could imagine what had happened to my other racquet string today!!! So you know I am on eby right now for another racquet, so I wont be with out a racquet. Talk to you tomorrow and let me know if my other racquet is all strung and I will give you another to restring.

Hey Dan, just wanted to thank you for starting this group. Just wondering how to get people to play...it seems about 10% are willing to get out there and play, and the rest only had the courage to join the group. Oh well, if I'm ever on your side of the island I'll ask to play...thanks again.
  • Scott Bellisle

    Hey Dan,

Thanks again for stringing my racket so soon. Last night after I got home I went online and purchased 2 more liquid metal 8 rackets. They are both already strung with synthetic gut. I got them both with shipping and handling for approx $175 to my door.
I really wish I was able to string my own rackets. I couldn't believe how bad my back was killing from just standing there. Anyhow I hope your enjoying your time with Simon, he is a great kid. Both of your kids are real nice and play well. Ok bud see you sometime soon.

    Caio for now,

    Scotty B.

Hi Dan. I live on the Mainland and have a group called Tri-Valley Tennis Assn in Northern California. Aloha to you and your members. One of the guys, is also a member of your group, Dr John Nguyen. Anyways, I was hoping to vacation Oahu this year to relax and see family. Wondering if i should pack my tennis racquets or just my guitar. In past visits, I would just meet with the locals at Kapiolani Park or Diamond Head Tennis Center. What do you have going on in the Islands? Mahalo. Dudleyk
