Hi! It's great to have you here! This is my *new* generic welcome message that, fortunately, is required due to the enormous growth. We're growing by 100 new members a day, and I just couldn't keep up. But that's a good thing. ;-)

Invite your friends too. We’re trying to reach 20,000 members by Wimbledon. :-)
If you need any help, let me know.

You just joined a super fun and infectious "community-based" tennis social network which connects tennis players, fans, coaches, and you.

To get started, please upload a photo or avatar for yourself (if you haven’t already.) Whether it's of you, your dog, or your racquet it doesn't matter, but it helps people remember you. You can also personalize Your Page with pictures, links, RSS feeds, colors and more here.

If you are looking to meet people for tennis matches, Look through the Groups or create a Group of your own and invite your tennis contacts. It's a good place to keep in touch with everyone in your circle.

Here’s a primer on how to meet other players.

The Forum is really the hub of the online community. Other places to explore: post youtube videos, add your own photos, write your own blog.

…and just hang out and meet great people.

    Welcome aboard,
    Mark

Looking for mixed doubles competition in the East Bay, California. Preferably in the Concord, Danville, Pleasanton areas. My partner cannot play tournaments because she works Saturdays, so I'm looking for a 3.5 female partner that can play USTA weekend tournaments.
  • Vera

MTA is alive and well (I'm a board member!). The Oakland Hills TC Interclub event was cancelled today (the 15th). See you on the 29th.
  • Vera

BTW, how did you learn about MTA? :) Are you going to any other events (like the BTC interclub)?
  • Joe

I saw an ad in Inside Tennis. Thought it would be interesting to venture even further out than I already do for tennis. I play tennis about 3 or 4 times a week, even though my achilles tendons really are killing me. I now play just doubles. I prefer mixed doubles. I have had a steady doubles partner for 4 years, but I want to play in some mixed doubles tournaments. Most of those require full weekend commits, and she works Saturdays. I did play in the Bridge the Generations tournament at Mills couple weeks back with another female partner. Were you there?

hi joe, just read your message. yeah playing as a guest at private clubs is nice. i could afford it but i dont like the way club members act. id rather meet people at the public park and make guine friends. ive seen your tennis profile and you seem to have a nice connection with players. maybe you can recruit them to our group. looking forward to meeting you.
  • Joe

I agree with you about those clubs. First of all, I can't afford them, and secondly, like you, I dont like those club members either. There is an arrogance about them.
  • GG

Hi Joe! Nice to meet you as well. What is the Resnick Tournament? Is that a part of MTA? I'm not really in the loop with tournament play. Haven't played competitively in 25 years. Just getting back in the groove with my game.
  • GG

Good Morning. My workload is heavy before I go on vacation, so I probably will not make Sunday. After that, I'm gone for 2 weeks, returning on Nov. 6. Mixed doubles sounds great. I should be able to find a 4th. I'll touchbase when I get back.
  • Coach Dudley

joe got your message. im checking with mark, the facilitator of this website. might be a glitch...
  • GG

    Hi Joe
Yep. Back from vaca. Still playing in tournaments?
