Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

Hi-
I'm Sarah. I'm new to Portland and I miss getting out on the courts and hitting balls around. I'm not rated- I started playing about 2 years ago with some friends who played competitive high school tennis, and they always say I'm pretty good at rallying for speed and accuracy. My serve could use some work, but I usually don't keep score, so that doesn't matter so much. I do like to work hard on the court, though- I'm not a lazy player. Mostly, I like to get out, run around, and have fun outside. I'd love to find a few people nearby who would like to be hitting partners (I don't mind if you're better or worse than me as long as you like to try!).

I am near 30th and Belmont- not sure what public courts are even around here- and I'm also willing to make a bit of a trek to play if needed. I'm readily available. Send me a message and maybe we can meet up.

Hi Sarah,
I live by Mt. Tabor I was out riding around last night and found that there are courts in the LaurelHurst Park on Stark and 39th -ish. I would be open to play you in the evenings after 6. Monday through Wednesday would be best for me.... In your hood or mine!

Chrystle,
Awesome, that sounds great. Monday-Wednesday are good for me too, though I play company softball some Tuesdays. Want to meet up next Monday at Laurelhurst? If you want to email me: spiratio @ gmail.com we can work out some details.

Hi Sarah, I live a little further SE from you by Mount Tabor Park (I think that is your nearest court). The courts my side of the park are often available. I have only been in Portland a year, and I seem to have similar skill set to you, however I started playing in school, and then stopped for many years.

A good energetic rally seems like much more fun that playing against the wall up there, which I have been doing lately. I am free weeknights. Let me know. I will likely be up there Wednesday around 6pm. michellini at hotmail.
I thought it was OK to be any level of player on this site. I am a casual player, with no ferocious need to be a serious player. I would like to stay that way. I do not mean to offend anyone or violate the rules of this site.
That's right Michelle. Casual play is A-OK. Tennisopolis is for everyone from beginner to advanced, from once-a-year to twice-a-day players.
I agree. I'm in tennis not to be serious, but to have fun and get some exercise outside. "Us girls" don't need to do anything.
Hi, Jenny-
I'm out of town for a couple weeks but when I get back I'd love to do some court exploration. sarah.steinberg at gmail- drop me a line!

Hi Sarah,
I am also a newbee in PDX, and also looking to get back into the groove of things, hopefully the weather allows it. Nice court(s) nearby.
I love to play tennis, but have not done it in a while so a little rusty.
Let me know if you would like to play sometime.

Mt Tabor park has a couple of good courts. How about Happy Valley Park?
