I take a short ball and force my opponent to come up with a passing shot. I'm surprised that a Usta hall of famer would say that. Most of them were all- court players back in the day.

When my friends were out partying, I was sneaking onto country club courts at night and playing tennis, all to get better.

I'm a member of the Chicagoland Tennis Club (a "Meetup" Group) http://www.meetup.com/Tennis-Club/ and theres about 200 members but only a handful can really play, so its not a lot of fun for me. I have suggested group lessons but no one seems to be interested in that. In the six months I have played with them, hardly any of them have improved one bit.

Maybe now they might throw in a white star racquet with every ski purchase.... Lendl played with the Kneissl Lendl Pro up until 1980. Adidas took the mold and painted them silver (Lendl GTX Pro and then Pro T).
