We are looking to form a Board of Directors for TennisTalentSearchCamps.com

www.TennisTalentSearchCamps.com
Dedicated to providing Safe After-School Tennis Programs in Long Beach, CA

We're looking for new Board Members!
Our Mission:

With the kind co-operation of Cathy Jacobson-Guzy, the dynamic Director of the Billie Jean King, El Dorado Park & Seal Beach Tennis Centers, and Walter Paiva their dedicated Head Tennis Pro we are seeking to organize an ongoing series of Tennis Talent Search Camps in Long Beach to encourage and train our young boys and girls to play the healthy sport of Tennis.

Many expensive Sports & Fitness programs have been cut and as a community we need to engage our youth and encourage safe, healthy after-school sports participation. The youth who would like to train in our future camps are extremely low-income; their families can not provide full financial support for this program.

Thus we are appealing to individuals and businesses in the community to support this effort by donating in cash, kind, participating in our Adult Tennis Camps to raise funds, or join our Board to help us in our efforts to provide discounted Tennis facilities, Coaches/Staff, sports gear, healthy snacks & equipment.

Our programs will focus on building safe after-school programs, team skills, and encouraging wholesome healthy competition, social interaction while promoting cultural diversity, healthy eating & reducing obesity at the same time.

We are seeking diverse, interested and passionate community-minded people!
As a grassroots organization we are committed to recruiting people who represent the diversity of our communities. In particular we are seeking professional in the field of accounting, banking, law, corporate development, marketing, academics, Grant Writers, Sponsors, Church Members, Govt./School Representatives, Benefactors and real estate, law enforcement, as well as those from diverse communities who can bring with them expertise and experience in the following areas
• Resource development, fundraising, and event planning
• Public policy, networking and community engagement
• Non-profit board governance and board committee experience
• Human resources and organizational development
We anticipate that our Tennis Talent Search Camps board provides vision, leadership and oversight to the organization. Board Members are expected to come prepared for meetings, participate and be engaged in decision-making, strategic planning, and various fundraising initiatives.
General expectations include:
• Willingness to work collaboratively with other Members to maintain positive relations among the Board, committees, staff and our communities to promote the organization's mission and the communities with which we work.
