Is this place no more?  Anyone interested in some hitting after work manana?  I live in Westerly but could meet somewhere (or offer you a beer at Malted Barley to come down my way :-)

I'm up in Attleboro, so I can't offer you match. But hopefully this thread kickstarts this group back into action. I was just coincidentally looking at this website earlier today, wondering if it was dead. I'm looking for a playing partner up here, too.

The Rhode Island group is clearly missing its duchess.  Here I am.  But I'm in North Providence and work in Boston, so Westerly is exceedingly tough.  Have you been playing much at the park?

Haha.  I will re-use my word: yikes!  That is far.  I actually haven't been playing but dying to.  Which park are you talking about?

I mistook you for the other Rob. Oops.  Roger Williams Park is the one I was referring to.  Good scene.

Haha.  I'm actually totally with you: all 6' tall white guys named Bob are essentially the same person. ;-)

Those are the clay courts, right?  Never played on clay but would.  Do you ever set up get-togethers there?  Are those courts pay/reservation only?

Yeah it's like ten bucks for two hours for doubles.  I don't know what it costs to play singles. Then you can buy a membership for unlimited but they upper the cost this year, so I opted out.  I run my USTA team out of there, but do a couple of clinics/social play elsewhere.  Clay is nice because it's easier on my joints and flatters my game well.  Next week I'll be playing on the Newport grass.

Cool.  I like the sound of ease on the knees though.  Give me a shout if you are ever randomly looking for an opponent.

HA! Now that's comedy - I couldn't be any less of a 6' tall white guy ;).  Hey Meg, how goes...? Yeah, been at the park a handful of times so far.  Went ahead and got the season pass, starting to wonder if I'll come anywhere near breaking even.  We'll see.  You playing the Labor Day Weekend tourney?  Maybe I'll run into you.  Cheers...
