Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

For some people, tennis can be an intimidating sport, especially if you are just starting out.  I joined Tennisopolis back in 2010, just to play some tennis and socialize.  Well, I ran into some players who didn’t know the game.  It was frustrating for me (a 5.0 player) to hit with them (3.0 players).  We always ended up not playing a match or not even rallying.  I always ended up teaching them how to play the game.  That’s okay.  I don’t have a problem teaching people how to play tennis.  Someone taught me how to play.

I have been playing tennis practically all my life.  I’m an ex-high school player and an ex-college player.  Today, I teach the fundamentals of tennis to young kids, grades K-6.  I have been coaching tennis for about three years.  Now, I’m looking to teach a class of adults the fundamentals of tennis in a fun, exciting, and social environment.  You will learn how to play tennis and have a lot of fun doing it.  I guarantee it.

Tennispolis is a great social website for people to hookup for a game of tennis.  But, people aren’t hooking up.  I’m sure there are plenty of reasons my people aren’t making it to the court.  Though, I believe it has to do with the level of play.  If you’re not a strong player, that could mess with your confidence.  If your not confident, your tennis can game can suffer.  This can cause you to not to want to play.  If you boost your level of play, that will make you more confident on the court.  So, if you’re just starting to play tennis or you’re a 3.0 player who wants to improve your game.  This class is for you.  If you’re looking to build your confidence, this class is for you.  If you just want to have fun and socialize, this class is for you.

The cost of the class is only $12 per one-hour class, for eight weeks.  Here you will learn the proper techniques of forehand and backhand groundstrokes.  You’ll learn how to volley, serve, and match play.  You’ll also learn proper footwork, point construction, and game strategy.  There is only one catch.  I need to have at least six players signed up to start a class.  That’s how the price stays low.

Here’s the lowdown.  If you sign up, you will be paying $12 x 8 classes.  That includes taxes and a registration fee that handles paperwork and phone calls.  That’s $96 for eight weeks of fun, socializing, and tennis.  When class starts there are no refunds for any reason.  The first day of class, you will need to bring a tennis racket and a can of Wilson tennis balls.  Make sure you bring plenty of water, a towel, and any changes of clothing with you.  After class, this is the cool down and social period of the class.  Here we cool down and replenish our bodies with fruits and nutritional drinks.  So, bring enough to share.

So, here is how you sign up.  Go to www.rbphotos.org/tennis.  Make a copy of the form.  Fill out the form, sign it, and send it with your payment of $96 to Rick Brandon, 670 Pebble Beach Court, Corona, CA  92882.  If you have any questions, you can call me at, 951-340-0738, or email me at info@rphotos.org, or contact me through Tennisopolis.  Make checks payable to Rick Brandon.

Sign up now.  So we can start playing and socializing.

Rick, perhaps you should put this in the classifieds section. Blogs are not really for selling instruction (or equipment), but to discuss tennis topics such as technique. Perhaps you have an instruction topic to blog about. Good luck!
