You lay your racquet in an abbreviated hitch then go up and lift your entire body. You don't rotate and go up and out. Yeah, I understand you aren't flexible and you state that. Well, kick serves aren't really about power then.
You don't aim the edge at the ball, so you don't pronate into the ball. Instead you scoop the ball without snapping through the ball up and out then down.
