after watching the vid...yeah, I was playing the lob plus he never EVER hits this hard flat pass, normally it's a loop so I have time to close and kill.

yeah, the short cross-court angle works great when the volley'er hits his first volley and then stays on the service line. Look where this clown is. The volley'er needs to dissect the angle of available passing shots, and close the net. (would have had an easy volley into the open court if he had). The second pass was a good one and would have beat him even if he had closed, but at least the other guy had to hit over the high part of the net.<br />
