Sounds good!

I have a previous haiku thread (2008) on women's tennis fashion that I put a lot of work into. Do check it out.

This is such a good idea, I'm going to start a Haiku thread in the Forum which will last in perpetuity. I'll post the thread here so that you can add your haikus and we can get the ball rolling there!
Very good!!!! You're a natural at this. I hope others start posting theirs as well!

It is a hard and fast rule. so I could have re-written the Djoko one like this:

Irked by the sense of
Being discounted, eclipsed
London is his chance.

I elected to put the word "of" in the second line because it fit more smoothly there. But a really good haiku captures the thought or idea without having to bend the rules.

Oh, sounds like you know more about haiku than me - I thought it was a hard and fast rule 5-7-5, at least that's what they follow on the Jim Rome show. ;-) So sad that my current literary knowledge is coming from sports radio - ouch!

Looks like you have a 5-7-5 and a 4-8-5 there, at least with my pronunciation.

Let me try one.
Scramble for the top
It's 5, 7, 5. Sometimes for the natural beat/cadence you end up doing 5, 8, 4 or 4, 8, 5, but it should always add up to 17 beats/syllables for the entire haiku. I don't think I broke this rule but I will re-check and change if I did.

Very cool idea - so is it supposed to be 4 or 5 syllables in the first line - cuz you got one of each. ;-)
