Why Don't We Just Quit?
The sun is shining and the court is calling. Your tennis bag is already in the back of the car just begging you to come out and play. You force your body off the couch, your knee reminding you of yesterdays three setter. You reach for the keys and your shoulder reminds you of the three aces you hit in the…

This is a fun video that demonstrates how to add the right amount of under spin to you slice forehand or backhand. The key is you don't want to add too much cut on your ball, which is what most club players try to do. This exaggerated cut motion results in a ball that floats too much and has no pace.
What you want to do is be…

I just finished tennis lessons for about 2 months with a coach. I bought a new racket.
I am looking for tennis players in my area to hit with during evening or weekends. I just got back into tennis from a young age. I would say that I was inspired by the Rafa Nadal. My family is from span. :)
I live in west palm beach, FL near the water front off of 45th and flager dr.
Hope to hear from some tennis players that want to hit…

String your racket more often for better performance.
A quick note regarding racket stringing and the frequency of which you should be restringing. While searching through various websites and blogs today I ran across a Prince Tennis blog titled "PrinceNextblog" and I was reminded about the phrase "string as often per year as you play in a week". I never really spent much time analyzing this statement but found myself replaying the phrase…

Funny Tennis Faces
The following is from my friends @ justgotserved.wordpress.com
Purely for the reason that I am so bored that I am at my wit’s end AND that due to the lucky fact I don’t live in outer Mongolia and therefore Google Images are readily available, I have selected a few of the most amusing pictures of tennis players.
It’s at this point that you begin to say ‘ But my friend, there is nothing amusing about tennis. It is a fine game’. And while the latter…

Playing the Big Points
As your level of play increases, simply keeping the ball in play may not be enough to win matches. The amount of control you have over the ball then becomes an important factor. Your shot placements can make all the difference. Maybe your opponent has good ground strokes and is able to effectively stay in every rally…

Un-groove your opponent
Some players like to camp out on the baseline and send back a steady stream of deep crosscourt shots. When you are facing such an opponent, never let him get in a groove
– he’s just waiting for you to make the error that’s going to give him the point. Remember that most tennis matches are decided by who makes the least…

Selecting the right shot at the right time
Raw, young, talented players can often hit a variety of shots but have little sense when it comes to shot selection. This underestimated and under-practiced skill is so important that it alone can separate the levels in tennis.
Your mind will begin to operate much like a computer. For it to be able to work…

How to slide into a forehand
This takes some practice, and you want to start gently, because sliding the wrong way can easily turn an ankle. One important tip is to keep your front foot pointed somewhat into the direction of your slide. It's the one that's likely to catch in the clay and suffer a turned ankle. The back foot can afford to be sideways, because it will skip over any catches in the clay instead of getting jammed into them. Here’s a good illustration of how to slide into a forehand on clay. Note how the…

Strong core and lower body to improve your tennis game.
The US Open has started and it is absolutely beautiful to watch the male and female tennis players move around the court with grace, power, prowess and precision. How motivating it is for us to try to be at least a little bit like them. If you watch carefully, you will notice smooth and quick footwork, strong lower body and core, and many big forehands.
In your off-court training, you want to focus on the leg and core…
