I need to hit and rally. My more experienced friend says I'm a 3.5 but I played long ago in high school and have just begun getting back into it!

Hi Lexi, welcome to Tennisopolis! If you're ever in the OC area and wanna rally sometime let me know. I'm usually free in the afternoons / evenings.
I'm typically free evenings (starting around 6pm); so don't hestiate to let me know if you're interested in playing in the more near-term.
