The Keizer Tennis Association in Keizer, OR, recently got approval to build tennis courts (4 adult and 4 10-and-under - THE FIRST IN THE PNW!!!) at Claggett Creek Park in Keizer. We have worked towards this goal for nearly 4 years and the City Council FINALLY agreed. We'll be applying for grants to fund the project (it's around $300k & the USTA will be granting us $50k) as we qualify as a non-profit org. The KTA is working hard to get funding, both public and private, for building professional courts (both regular and QuickStart) in our city. For those of you who are familiar with Keizer and have looked for a place to play, you know the pickings are slim. Those courts that do exist are in really poor shape. - I am retired and have some time to play now! Doubles mostly - singles if my body is up to it but that's not very often! I am a club member and have played USTA but I really prefer playing for fun. However, I am agressive on the court and love a challenge. I want to get better!

- Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Andy Roddick, Martina Navratilova - and I just love to watch Marcos Baghdatis - he's a hoot.
