Hi Tim, thank you for the consideration - the OC is quite a large area (3 million people & a large square mileage) and based on the mountainous geography & travel limitations to/from the beach cities, they are not a probable, regular playing area for people in Irvine - and there are a wealth of quality courts (private & public) and avid players in the Irvine area.
As for the South Coast Metro group - maybe it was the indiscriminate name or lack of specifying Irvine, but its been nearly 2 years since there was any activity in that group, which to date has only 2 members. So I doubt that group will actually serve the needs of our area.
Of course, I cannot say how quickly the Irvine Group will grow, but the Hollywood / LA Group I started several years ago when I lived there is one of the top 10 largest on this site and like there, I definitely feel there is a need here, in this community, even if you just understand the urban planning and layout of this city - its quite unlike others.
This would be a great way to help connect players of the various ethnicities & cultures of our area through the game of tennis. I feel it would be unwise not to allow the chance.
Rick Brandon
Thanks for the tip Tip. I'll check that out. Just to let you know there isn't any media that isn't about selling. Peace, Rick Brandon.
