last night, 5 men attended and then it was just me and one other gal pal - I am planning to set up another tennis event next week - see my page for an update...
Hi Perry! It's great to have you here! I love it when people jump right in and start mixing it up.
This is our *new* generic welcome message that, fortunately, is required due to the enormous growth. We're growing by 100 new members a day, and we just couldn't keep up. But that's a good thing. ;-)
You just joined a super fun and infectious "community-based" tennis social network which connects tennis players, fans, coaches, and you.
To get started, pleaseupload a photo or avatar for yourself (if you haven’t already.) Whether it's of you, your dog, or your racquet it doesn't matter, but it helps people remember you. You can also personalize Your Page with pictures, links, RSS feeds, colors and more here.
Woohoo, I added the Tennis Channel to my cable package, and got VS network (Tour de France!) and Speed channel among others for just $3 more a month. Worth it for the tennis alone!
Looks like I'm down until further notice. Not only did I pull a muscle in the right groin area, I pulled a calf too. Now it's healing time! I knew i should have rested after playing last night! Live and learn I guess.....
I agree. A day's sleep sure helped, both legs feel better but I'm going to give them through the weekend at least....maybe a slow short bike ride on Monday to see how the calf is loosening up..
Perry, I hope you are completely healed. Don't watcha to hurt yourself! Of course, if you play me and Rosemary, you are likely not going to have to hurl yourself toward the ball to hit it...or will you? muahahaha
Perry,
Sorry to miss tonight. I took two classes at the gym this afternoon and that wiped me out. I'll be in Houston next Monday but the one after, I'll appear. See ya.
Hi, Perry - you seemed to do well out of the court this evening! Glad a little injury couldn't hold you down. I'm totally up for some coaching! Lord knows I need it. I'll mention it to everyone else and take a poll! =) You Rock!
Gary, I'm taking it easy, just hitting around some on Tues nights with the group that meets at Westlake, I pulled a groin last week and the bruising is really something else....going to the Doc today to have it checked out. Once I'm back to full speed I'd love to play some singles...
Thanks. Perry. My knee wasn't too bad, just felt like a little knee cap problem, but I feel okay this morning. I really appreciated your tips; I caught myself practicing what I learned and so many shots actually went where I wanted them to! Yay!
saw your post this morning Perry. Unfortunately I work Friday thru Monday right now all day :( can play Tu thru Th though. shoot me an email if you have the time to hit on those days - also do you know a good stringer in NW Austin?
Last night was tons of fun - wish I could have stayed and played longer! Loved how many folks came out! How do you feel about playing on Mondays after August?
The US Open is already here, so NOW is the time to come make your picks in the US Open Bracket Challenge sponsored by Avery Tennis.
Little known facts:
1. It's free.
2. It's fun.
3. The Grand Prize is a new Avery M3 Control racquet.
4. Do I need any more reasons?
5. It's more fun to follow the tourney when you have points at stake.
6. Bragging rights.
7. OK, I'm all out...
I asked Rob, the admin for the tennis MeetUp group, to post the Tuesday & Thursday Westlake event over there as well--it might be an easier way for more folks to see who will be there.

I'm like playing in the morning or after 6:30. I usually play at Cedar Park or Vista Ridge High School.

Now I have a new nCode N4, feels like cheating the head is so huge compared to the old wooden racquets I started on!

If you are looking to meet people for tennis matches, Look through the Groups or create a Group of your own and invite your tennis contacts. It's a good place to keep in touch with everyone in your circle.
Here’s a primer on how to meet other players.
The Forum is really the hub of the online community. Other places to explore: post youtube videos, add your own photos, write your own blog.
…and just hang out and meet great people.
Welcome aboard,
