    Hi! Welcome to the "community-based" tennis social network which connects tennis players, fans, coaches, and you. We created this place less than 2 years ago and it has been a wild ride ever since - we've gone viral and now we're "almost famous".

    What can you do here?
    At Tennisopolis, you can:
    - meet other players. Here's a primer on how to find partners.
    - join a Group. Members have started over 220 Local Groups (and other types of Groups too.) Search for one in your area, or start your own.
    - follow the pros. There are over 1000 blog posts on Tennisopolis. Have a good read, or write your own.
    - improve your game. Get tips in the Forum and check out video lessons.
    - post your own Videos or embed your favorites from youtube.
    - add your own Photos.
    - and just hang out and connect with great people.

    To get started, please upload a photo or avatar for yourself (if you haven’t already.) Whether it's of you, your dog, or your racquet it doesn't matter, but it helps people remember you. You can also personalize Your Page with pictures, links, RSS feeds, colors and more here.

    Thanks to everyone inviting their friends, we now have nearly 20,000 members and we're growing by 70 new members a day. Invite yours too!

    If you need any help, let me know.
    Friend me!

    Yes, I have that racket. It may be the plus model, which has a bit more updated technology. I can play tomorrow (Tuesday) at Prospect Park at 11AM if you can make it? Text me in the morning. 347 668 8250

    hi John,

    I live near Fort Greene courts. Would you like to hit there?
    My schedule is relatively flexible, but I am not an early morning person ;)

    Hey John...I used to play a while ago, and was around the 4.0 rating...Havent played in a while and looking to get back into the game. I live very close to Alley Pond, which makes it convenient.
    Do you want to hit the ball some time?

    Hi John,
    Where in Manhattan do you play? I am in downtown Manhattan once or twice a week for work.
    I am new in NY, so don't know about the courts there. What do they charge for a session?
    cheers,
    Joe

    Hey I don't know if you like ping pong, there's a ping pong event at FIT this saturday night. Perhaps you'd like to check it out. I will be attending. Here's some info about the event:

    As always;
    Times; Saturday 6pm-9pm

    Place: FIT 27th and 8th Ave. Building A sub-basement. Enter through "C" building between 7th and 8th Ave.

    Please RSVP the week of the upcoming date so I can keep track of the list. RSVP by emailing my meetup address teddisalad@yahoo.com.

    For the benefit of new members;
    I am the coach of the program at FIT. I schedule periodic scrimmages so that FIT players can play a variety of people, as well as open table tennis in an unequaled venue for players who might never have played in proper conditions. Many player bring their own paddles but I have some pretty good loaners. Please wear sneakers and clothing appropriate for athletic activities.

    I have 6 world class tournament quality tables, a high ceiling and a spacious gym. All levels are welcomed!

    email sent by the FIT pingpong coach.

    take the A to 181st. you have to walk via the underpass to the park. the walk is like 10 minutes. it opens in winter and no one checks permit there.
  • William He

    well theres no direct route to the park if you get off at 160st. i've tried it once, you bascially have to jaywalk across a highway and go down pretty steep hills. not recommended.

    8 courts, they recently renovated the courts there..like repainted the lines and resurfaced the floors. they finished 2 of the courts last time i was there half a year ago.
