Thanks for the tickets! He did not seam to hold back on his serve even though there were likely some casualties in the seats. They showcased some nice shots... good to see some serious pace on shots near the end of the match. Much appreciated!!! V

Hi Mark! thanks for the site. I like your art studio. Aside Tennis, I love mid-century architecture.

Singles or doubles. I'm here for two weeks. I did plan on going home for the weekend but decided to stay instead. So I am down for playing this weekend. I have called several places like Jerry Cline Park and the other place on Indian School Road. Let me know my hours are very flexible.

Aloha Mark...great name...same as husbands....I was so excited to find your group on Craig's list since I have been looking for months for other players in Honolulu...I found Amy and wrote her, but I am not sure I am finding everyone that I can to write and send request to play. I am kinda new to this "joining sites" gig as I have been a full time stay at home mom, but am now eagered to play tennis again as much as possible.
Do you have any idea how I might be able to find more people in Hawaii? not sure I am doing the searches correctly and would so appreciate any help on your end!

Caio for now, Momi a.k.a. Ms. Aloha

  • Melissa

Hi Mark - it was super fun, I'll just have to rub that in a bit more!! When you go you will have to let me know, I'll give you all of the great tips I have learned - one of which is don't bother to buy tickets in advance...you can always buy day tickets at the door and the second and most important tip is go during the 1st week - you get to see a LOT more tennis and you get to see them up close (since they are on the outer courts). I am on facebook - http://www.new.facebook.com/profile.php?id=685005922&ref=profile

    Hi Mark,
No, but I will look into it, thanks! Monica Seles lives about an hour south of here in Sarasota and a friend of mine knows here. Not only is she a great player, she is totally down to earth and really nice too!
    Best,
    Olivia
  • Chris

hey mark, how come my groups are not showing in my page. =(
  • Casey

Oh well that makes since. I wouldnt really change anything really. Maybe add usergroups so users can find people at the same skill level. I've hit with a lot of people from here when Im back in california training but they're not what level they say they are. Maybe add a Pro Circuit group or something. Idk
  • Eniela Echizen

    hey Mark
Thanks for making this wonderful tennis community on here, for everyone to connect to one another. I was wondering though if you could add a feature where you can update your stats, and last match stats, etc.. whenever you get the chance?
    Comment back Tommy Cruz, thanks

    Hi Mark,
Just now getting around to thanking you for this opportunity to be part of your brain child, Tennisopolis. A job well done! It's about time, as you said, that someone got everyone that loves this great game together in one place. You have done an excellent job with this website......I really have to congratulate you.
I lived up in the north of Alberta for some time but have now moved back to Calgary so we are slowly starting to put together a movement here and up north in Grande Prairie to spread the word and round up all those who are interested.
Keep up the great work and talk at you again soon.
    All the best,
    Sandyman
  • HCFoo

    Hi there Mark,
Thanks for your idea. I'm still very new in the tennis blogosphere to start a group. But it doesn't mean I can't think about it, right? Thanks again and have a good day!
  • SATennisguy

Yea..its a newer pic from a few weeks ago..seems lately I am always the one with the camera at the hit arounds so dont get to many chances for photo ops...lol
  • Jazz Burks

I have a question about the profile questions. What the heck is a Whaler?
  • Cary T

Hey Mark, Thanks for the welcome. After 20 years, I've dusted off my racquets and I'm back out on the courts and it feels great!
  • Crys

Hey Mark how is it going? Well I have been playing tennis for a yr and a half now. I joined a team with the USTA last month I have played two matches and I lost both 1-6, 3-6 and this past Friday 1-6, 0-6. I am very discouraged and I feel like maybe I should play competitive tennis. Any advice?
    Thanks for the comment today!
    Crys
  • SATennisguy

Mark, I want to be able to remove comments on the group page even if they are not from me..seems I have that option on the boerne group page but not the aces...is it because I am the administrator and not the creator..thought those both had the same POWER...lol
  • Michael Price

A whailer is somebody who pounds the ball. For the lady who wants to play better, play matches just as much as lessons, and you should do both, but if you get a teacher who does not teach about the inner game and feel, then give him a cardboard box to write on to ask for change on the local corner, that is, if he really wants to waist peoples time. "Cool house Mark"
  • Rachel

    haha lame, thanks lol
  • Mickey

Mark, like I said, I might have to watch more before commenting. As a matter of fact I do think the girls are now playing with more advanced techniques, but not as 'strong' as Steffi's and the gang that era (I mean how they played with such stamina and just went for the balls!) I stopped playing tennis completely for 7 years and I just got back, I used to play 4.0 now I am barely make 3.5 so but I am confident to gain back as I am playing better and better each week. The Tennis Channel is so awesome, when I watch it, it's like digging back the memory of techniques, skills, what I should do what I shouldn't while playing tennis and yes I will be back to where I left and climb up more! I will watch some more and let you know I were wrong on my remark, anyhow... I myself am pretty sure things get better not the other way around in time.
  • Mickey

No, No, I didnt say you said I was wrong. I meant to say that I might be wrong or 'judging' too early. I need to watch all to determine if I were wrong or right.
  • Linda Hix

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for putting this all together. It will be nice to meet some tennis buddies in the Phx. area as well as abroad. Also, nice pics of Safin. I'm cleaning off the drool on my chin as I type this.
  • Steven B

Hey Mark, There are two albums that came out about that time that recieved some critical acclaim they were Mystery Road or Fly Me Courageous
