Tennis - 40 and Older - Level 3.5

Are you going to be 40 or older in 2013? Do you want to play organized tennis in Marin?

Strangely, I've become the captain of a tennis team.

I am looking for players to join a newly forming Marinwood team for the USTA Men's 40 and older league at the 3.5 level.

Matches will be both singles and doubles, but weighted more toward doubles.

I am hoping to find strong 3.5 level players; but, I'll likely also end up taking a few folks at the strong 3.0 level.

If you are unsure of your playing level, look here: http://www.usta.com/Play-Tennis/USTA-League/Information/About_NTRP/

If you are still unsure and would like to get together with me for some play before you decide, then let me know.

The goals is to find 12 players who are reasonably committed to playing the whole season. If lots of guys are interested, another team can be formed. I'm sure well have guys at various ages.

Registration is November 19 - December 16. The playing season is January 7 - March 31, with playoffs at the end of April (if we should be so lucky). Play will be weekday evenings and weekend days at Marinwood Community Center and at country/tennis clubs around the county.

We may try to get together for some practice before the season begins.

All-in-all, as captain, I hope to make this a social and stress-free season.

If you are able to join the team, you will need to become a member of USTA, which costs about $75 per year.

Please contact me for details.  rrpjr1@piercespace.com

I am a 3.5-4.0 who lives in Hamilton and works in San Rafael.  Looking for practice partners at the same level.  Men or women.  Mornings work best for me. Hamilton/Marinwood/Albert Park/maybe Pioneer Park, maybe Piper. At the moment I have a ball machine if you'd like to come to Hamilton.

Hi Elizabeth,

I am trying to get back into playing also...I am between 3 and 3.5, just love the game and can meet up by the civic center, I have a court right around the corner from my house in Santa Venetia, usually free.  Email

Just joined the site.  I am looking for someone interested in rallying and maybe playing a few sets on Saturday mornings.  I live in Tiburon so southern Marin is fine, but I normally play at Redwood where it is warmer in the morning and the courts are usually quiet.

I'm free to play any day of the week after 6pm anywhere in Marin (Ideally Novato or San Rafael) - I'm probably a 3-3.5 - I can be emailed at
