Hi,

Does someone has recommendation for good tennis stringing. I moved from Fremont to San Ramon about three years back. So far, I am still going to Fremont for stringing.

Recently, I started using Sports Authority for stringing but now they are also winding down their operations?

Anyone has suggestion!

Thanks

Hi all, I recently just got back into the game and recently picked up an older gamma stringer (6000 I think?) for 200 bucks!! So my question is, can someone recommend me a good string? It's kinda overwhelming how many different types of strings are out there. Strings that I have played recently are head's sonic pro, fxp, and syn gut. I liked the fxp but popped the srings in less than two hrs. The sonic pro had a great pocket feel for me but a tad bit pricey. I have also used goosen's og…

I want to buy some reels to begin stringing tennis rackets. But first I need to know which strings to buy. What's your favorite string, and why? What's your most popular string?

Would appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks!

Does anyone this combo? I have currently installed but the poly crosses are really eating up into the main. I really like how the stringbed performs though. Right now have have Forten Sweet 17/Golden Set Poly 18 at 55/53.

I've had mine since about 1986, bought new from John Balaban, the inventor of the machine. Had some repair work done last year by Jim who currently operates TTSM. Wondering if anyone has been experimenting with tensions for poly strings, especially the cross string tension.

All i've been using so far is the double hitch but was advised that it's not necesarily the best knot to use whether to finish the mains or starting. For the tourney stringers here, what's the best knot you use and for which tie-offs? PC, Parnell?

I have been out of the tennis strings network for years. Now all I hear is about Polyester strings. Is it much different than Prince PolyPlus? It was stiff and difficult to string with, almost like gut, but I never played with it. I've played with Technifibre 515 for many years. Now discontinued, I use NRG2. Any real benefits with the likes of Luxilon Big Banger and such? Who is best suited to this type/brand of string, benefits, drawbacks?
I own an old Babolat Star stringer. Circa 1985?
I often check the racquet tension after stringing with the STRINGMETER mk VI by Polycraft.
I'm thinking the calibration may be off. Should I invest in a calibrating device for the stringer? And if so. How do I calibrate it? The stringer's been running like a champ, but it's nearly 15 years old and how accurate is my tension? This is what my stringer looks like, but this is a stock photo from stringforum.net.
Thanks in advance.
