  • Yo Tim the serve looks the same.

  • Tim Prapong

    it's different

  • Kelvinator

    coachV

  • -

  • william

  • Vazquez

  • Tim Prapong

i don't bring it back as far

  • Me

    Hey I'm on my phone

  • Tim Prapong

    ah ok

  • Me

Stillfaling to the left too much

  • Tim Prapong

i land on my left square though

  • Me

Try falling into the same direction the ball is going in.

  • Kelvinator

    left square?

  • Tim Prapong

    that's hard

  • Me

    On the leftfoot

  • Tim Prapong

i'd have to toss completely to the right and not anywhere forward of the baseline

  • Me

    Supports serve & volley options

  • Tim Prapong

well lemme think about it. i'll try it today

  • Kelvinator

what are you trying to work on?

  • Me

Kick the right leg backwards & not to the right.

  • Tim Prapong

    tossing to the right

  • Me

Don't toss so much into the court. Toss closer to ur body.

  • Tim Prapong

okay, i'll try that. it's gonna feel weird

  • i've always tossed into the court

  • Me

That's weird feeling is a learning curve.

  • Tim Prapong

so it's a cartwheel thing then, right

  • 2:50 PM
  • Me

That what ur doing now yes cartwheel.

  • Tim Prapong

    shoulder over shoulder like llodra?

  • Me

Think more ballet right arm forward right leg back. On finish. Reference service video of mine.

  • Tim Prapong

i was taught side arm pronation by vic braden. that's why cartwheel feels weird to me

  • 2:54 PM
  • Me

Change grip or play with grip change favoriting forhamd grip.

  • Tim Prapong

thanks for the tip. i will try it. i use backhand or continental on serve

  • ah, so you use forehand grip on serve, like aussie forehand like becker then cartwheel. i get it.

  • 2:57 PM
  • Tim Prapong

i did that for about 6 weeks. got a lot of power that way

  • 2:58 PM
  • Tim Prapong

i'd actually land on almost on my right foot instead

  • 2:59 PM
  • Me

No let me get on my CPU

  • Tim Prapong

    ok

  • 3:04 PM
  • Tim Prapong

i saw your serve. you toss directly to the right over the baseline, and then kick out your leg. how do you get topspin or kick from that position?

  • 3:05 PM
  • Tim Prapong

becker tosses into the court to but to the right, so he cartwheels and lands on his right

  • Kelvinator

what effect are you trying to get on your serve?

  • going from your side arm pronation to cartwheeling?

  • just more pop?

  • Tim Prapong

i want to have topspin slice or flat. sounds like coach v's serve is a way to hit flat or slice

  • Me

no i Favor the Forehand side of the continental grip

  • Tim Prapong

    yeah, that's aussie grip then

  • becker's grip

  • Kelvinator

    so a "weak" continental

  • haha

  • Tim Prapong

    no that thing serves bullets

  • Me

    Its Still continental

  • Kelvinator

    hence weak continental

  • Tim Prapong

it's having the thumb joint over the most right edge of continental lol

  • i understand what you're saying now coach

  • Me

just favoring the forhand side...but I can still kick the ball....but I find it easier to get kick serves too.. with the a closed stance swing I get bigger spin

  • not the Thum

  • but the pinkey side is moved over to the forehand side like a 2 mm

  • very small movement

  • Tim Prapong

i played a Russian guy last weekend who used that kinda kick serve. was very loopy

  • 3:11 PM
  • Me

its feels more like a forehand gip then the pronation is not done over the ball but behind the ball like pushing which happens at contact

  • but looks the same up until contact

  • thats the most recent chages i made to fix the pain i get

  • in my video I was not as injured as i am now....

  • so im going stright on or over in my video

  • Tim Prapong

yeah you get more of a straight on push with that grip and less of an angled face into the ball

  • Me

Think about that stright punch but with the palm of your hand and not the nuckles or thumb

  • so the hand spread open..

  • pointing back

  • then pronate with the thumb pointing to the left with fingers pointing up

  • thats the contact point then snap down

  • Kelvinator

wow you two need a video or pictures!

  • Tim Prapong

yeah that's how becker did his kick serve, across the palm upwards

  • Me

like a Leftey serve but rightie forehand time?

  • tim

  • Tim Prapong

    sorry internet connection

  • Me

I will make a quick video right now.

  • Tim Prapong

    cool

  • i know that kick method though. it's a good one

  • 3:18 PM
  • Tim Prapong

i'd like to see u do it. it'd be a great vid to put up

  • Me

    the demo is almost up

  • 3:21 PM
  • Kelvinator

    excellent

  • Tim Prapong

how do you kick yours, kelvin?

  • thumbs and knuckles, toss forward or palm up toss to the side?

  • 3:23 PM
  • Me

    http://youtu.be/auaXwiw5dWI

  • Tim Prapong

    cool

  • looking at it now

  • Me

    does it make sence

  • sense

  • Tim Prapong

    absolutely

  • Kelvinator

amazing what 15 secs of video can explain LOL

  • Tim Prapong

and you can get more of a balanced leg drive on it

  • Kelvinator

not that it wasnt explained well b4 but...

  • Me

the ballance is simple standing on the left leg

  • Tim Prapong

yes, i can imagine it now. you don't have to lean or jump much

  • Me

with your right arm stright out towards the net and right leg stright back as a counter ballance

  • Tim Prapong

that's so mechanically efficient then. good. it saves me from jumping forwards all the time crooked. lol

  • Me

that also puts your weight into the ball and not falling away from the ball like in your video tim

    • Kelvinator

      excellent

    • Tim Prapong

how do you kick yours, kelvin?

    • thumbs and knuckles, toss forward or palm up toss to the side?

    • 3:23 PM
    • Me

    • 3:27 PM
    • Tim Prapong

i like to jump but not each and every time. lol

    • so you never really toss forwards more than 4 inches then

    • 3:29 PM
    • Tim Prapong

what do you think of spoerl's kicker?

    • Me

only as much as you can jump up

    • Tim Prapong

that would break my back, how spoerl hits it. he's young. he can do it. not me.

    • Me

so if you got a 12 inch jump only jump forward 6 inches

    • Tim Prapong

      ah i see. that's a good proportion

    • 1:2 ratio

    • Me

Well the the pronation I show in the video doesnt hurt my elbow & im getting more power

    • & im gonna use it in my tournament

    • tomoro morning 8am

    • Tim Prapong

yeah, that other way of doing it really snaps the elbow hard. kinda sampras, high elbow snap thing

    • Me

Yeah That hurts me now I cant do it

    • but hes 6 2 so he not going at it like shorter guys have to

    • Tim Prapong

i used to do it, sway from right hip to left hip, then jump, snap my elbow high.

    • Me

so i think sampras is quick serving it

    • but it looks bigger because hes bigger

    • Tim Prapong

he gets to hit down more than me for sure

    • Me

but he can cause he can see over the net when he jumps

    • Tim Prapong

he doesn't really do the whole rigamarole he used to

    • i def cannot see over the net at any time

    • Me

we are the same hight right tim 5 7

    • Tim Prapong

      yup

    • Kelvinator

you tall people have all the luck

    • Tim Prapong

      gotta hit up, up, up

    • Me

well my style will allow you to be more consistant and not fault on the net anymore

    • Tim Prapong

yeah, that will save me a lot of energy for sure

    • Me

PLay with the ideas and Show me the Video
