Coaches & Pros Bulletin Board

There’s a lot of satisfaction that comes from helping others play tennis at a higher level. Young or old, gifted or not, it’s a great thing to find the ways to make the game more enjoyable for so many people. But coaching is also a business and Tennisopolis is a great platform to connect with other coaches and pros about how to improve the business side of coaching.

Tennisopolis is committed to finding ways that allow you to more effectively get the word out about what you offer and a chance to use the network to drive revenue. Very soon there will be options for coaches and pros to better promote their services and share their expertise.

I am some what upset about the Agassi vrs Sampras, and Lendal vrs. Mac matches in NY. I am happy Lendal is back playing, what a game he had. The machine with perfection on the court. I wrote a lot about the benefit that Agassi lost his temper a lot and wrote players and tennis people that they should play a charity event in Chicago, Sampras vrs Agassi singles and Nadal vrs Federer singles with the microphones on. Did want a classic ladies match and maybe doubles and mixed doubles. NY gets all the great tennis, Chicago has a challenger event. Either way it will be a great event and hope in the future the tours and the world championships come to the Chicago area. Off to the court to work on my Dad's fitness, shot selection, mental game, and going up to the ball on his serve, not letting it drop. He thinks he can take a hard deep, and even heavy topspin ball and change directions. The hardest shot in the game. Yesterday he got it. He also need to look at his strings, move on and not think to much. Take a little time between points and now he has the shots he has been playing for over 40 years. We are also working on drinking lots of water, not getting mad over a shot that goes in but isn't what he wants, and going up at the serve, not letting the ball come down. I don't mind doing it, I get a little workout and it is my Dad and he is one of the better senior players around. Maybe he will play a father son tournament with me one day? My Hamstring is healing, really want to play a tournament myself. i am playing very well just need to stay healthy. One other thing we are working on is not swinging at vollyes from the baseline, and taking the short balls and making it offense. i am back at my 2 handed backhand again after last years elbow surgery. it is hard going back after years with a one hader. I realize keeping the racket low, head still, and flowing through with your left hand is key. i am getting it back and keeping my slice one hander. Have fun on the court if not take a break.

I also am very honored to be a part of this group but I have payed my dues on the court both playing and teaching. Looking forward to a contiued life time of teaching, playing and writing about tennis. Play other sports but at 5-5.5 it has always been my best. Love seeing the story on 60 minutes on Drew Bress and his tennis days. I am off to do a story at the beyondsport.org summit tomorrow and thursday. Hopefully be able to cover some tennis events as I am learning the wrtitng, media, and story side of sports. I just plan on listening, learning and taking notes. I try and write every week in the USTA question of the week. I am also hoping to stay healthy and play some 35 and up events, and go to one of those destination tennis camps or resorts from the tennis channel and do a story for a publication or future book. If interested let me know at somken@aol.com. I would even come and do a story and help coach. i also am a song writer, producer, check out my work, edgerr@itunes, and most sites, and coming soon a documentary film and album, done with error's. I do owe a lot to tennis, thanks tennis.

Great to be invited into this Fine Community of Players and Coaches. I feel very privileged to be a member of this Elite group. It's all about the gift of knowledge and putting it out there so as others can experience the joy of hitting a tennis ball with precision! Damn, this game is great.....is'nt it? My best to you all and may the force be with Youz!!!
