Are the any regular doubles pick-up games in Indianapolis. I'll be visiting my daughter, who lives there this summer and would like to play.

We have a group that has been playing every m,w,f for 30 years here in Hobe Sound, Fl

I do not know of any Eric.  It seems like there was a regular at Broad Ripple park for some time.  We had a regular meeting for singles going last year on Wednesdays, but not now.  I am interested in playing though, either doubles or singles, if you are up for it.  Thanks!

Do you have any upcoming tennis matches/games planned at 40th & Meridian courts?

Why not spread the word about open pick-up tennis at those courts every Mon, Wed & Fri at 7:00pm and see if you can get a regular group going. I can help spread the word.

Thanks for the suggestion Eric!  I would like to start playing on Wednesdays for now.  Sorry for the late reply Vea!  I can't do it on Fridays at this point, maybe Mondays...

Hi Jay-

 

Actually, I started a meetup at BDHS on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.  So far, I have two people confirming that they will be joining us.  We played this past Wednesday and plan to continue playing at that time.  We are also thinking of picking up another day of the week if we get enough interest.  

 

Can you play at 40th and Meridian on another day for meetups?  That way, I can keep the BDHS Wednesday meeting and then join you for whatever other day you can do it on.  Let me know.  You can also email me directly at vea_jones@yahoo.com or if you still have my phone number, call me on my cell.

 

I hope we can work something out.

So is this a possible schedule?

Monday at 6:30pm 40th and Meridian Courts
Wed. at 6:30pm at Ben David High School
Saturday at 9:00am 40th and Meridian Courts

What ever you all agree on I can put out free community announcement in press outlets, plus tennis sites. I would suggest that any press release say that it is not for beginners.

Monday works well for me at the Meridian Courts. 

I am a maybe at Ben Davis and I can not on Saturday.

Eric that sounds like a good schedule to me.  I agree about the "not for beginners".  Maybe you can state it as 3.0 level or higher.  Or that players must know the rules of the game, how to keep score, and have the ability to play at level 3.0 or higher.

If it doesn't rain on Monday, I'll see you all at the 40th and Meridian Courts.
