Wow, sounds like everyone had a good time this morning, unfortunately I was drawn away at the last minute for work...Berit..please hold on to the tennis balls ...seems when I dont show up there is always a crowd....guess I should stay away more..
I will be out next week as well in Dallas...see you all in a few weeks perhaps

Great turnout at the hit around this morning. It was great seeing you guys and welcome back Chede. This photos should be up and available for download on the Flickr site. For those of you that don't remember how to download the photos, click on the photo.....choose "all sizes".....and download the size you want. Email me if you have any problems

Hi Guys! Firstly, Charles thank you so much for putting in the efforts to keep this group going. I know that running any group activity can be tough but you have shown great patience. Tennis has probably been a saving grace for someone like me who isn't from the US. I agree with some of the members regarding the clinic , I think it will be more feasible for Miguel to hold it on a weekday just because of the lack of people showing up.I usually RSVP and try to make it for the hitarounds. This month is going to be crucial for me as far as school and exams are concerned, so you may not see as much of me. For the sake of people who are passionate about tennis, guys please try and come to the hitarounds. Charles, I appreciate your efforts and hope that the group stays!

Attendance was at its highest before the clinics began. My suggestion is to reschedule or relocate the clinics. Two reasons, #1 The clinic takes up valuable court space during the scheduled hit around. #2 people who once attended the hit around and are now taking the clinic are unavailable to hit around until after the clinic. Rescheduling or relocating the clinic will ensure that 100% of the attendees, show up to hit around and will open up an extra court to accommodate them.
Attendance should rise come summer time. To make sure that it does, every member that plans to attend the hit-around should invite 5 other members by contacting them by e-mail, or better yet by phone (as opposed to RSVPing). A simple "hey I'll be attending the hit around this weekend, hope to see you there" should do it. After all, this is a social networking site.

I haven't been to the Saturday morning hit-around in a while. Mostly because I'm in a USTA league that plays on Saturday. Then of course winter came and playing tennis at 8 a.m. when it is 30 degrees out is not my idea of fun...I live in Texas for a reason! ;-) Now that it is getting warmer, I'm again in USTA leagues on Saturdays, plus I play 3-5 times a week in variuous leagues and tournaments. When leagues are between seasons I will likely come out again.

I logon to Tennisopolis regulary and do enjoy the group. I think this has been a big success and now that the clinics are ending I think people will start to come back out.

Thanks Charles for running the group and keeping us up to date.

P.S. I'm always looking for strong 3.5 players that can play doubles in leagues and/or tournaments!

Yeah, I agree with most of the comments. I'm sorry I havn't been able to get out to the Saturday hit around, I was out with an ankle injury then one of my classes are every Saturday morning. That will change after this spring semester is over. I agree also that probably you guys were having more fun before the clinics started and come summer you'll have more people coming to the hit arounds. No school and great weather! :-)
