Relating to the post abovce: Lets have an example, shall we. Babolat Pure Drive GT is a higher end (cost) racquet and it is one of the stiffest racquets ever made.
Relating to vibration dampeners: I like to use the happy face one and an ocasional rubberband just tied to the strings. The dampener sometimes changes the balance of the racquet, if you have a heavy dampener in there.

Dampeners don't really do anything. the Vibrations are still there you just don't hear them anymore. I think that YOU Lose feel of the ball when one is used. I also think that Dampeners hide bad racquets because of the loss of feel.

Here is an example of why I use them. I don't play with Dampeners, but One of my racquets has something loose in it. I use the Dampeners to stop the sound but Now i have to put Them on all my racquets. that's how I make the racquets feel the same. This is my only…

i think most dampeners are similar and do a decent job. The rubber band (roddick uses) does a really good job, but for me the best by far and I dont know why except it seems to make the right sound i like when the ball hits the strings is the babolat with the whole in it. A lot of men on the tour use them inc Nadal, Monfils, Gasquet, Davydenko etc etc
