So not that many got bumped in our league this year...i think about 5 players from the 4.0 got bumped up and only one 4.5 was bumped up. At least one 4.5 was bumped down tho.
Not sure about the 3.5s but i think at least the same amount of them got bumped up to 4.0s as the 4.0s to the 4.5s (just from a quick count off the top of my head ...

Mid season I was marked to be bumped down to 4.0 which I couldn't freaking figure out since I had an over .500 record at 4.5. But then when the new ratings came out, they left me at 4.5. Sounds like they HAD to move you up Mike with all the domination you were handing out, but sometimes the "computer" makes no sense.
Has anyone else noticed glitches in the calculations?

My partner for basically the entire year was not bumped while i was ... The only way we thought that could have happened was maybe...just maybe my rating was a smidge higher at the start of the year than his...??? Not really sure if this could be a factor but im sure he was really really close to being bumped :) .. i didn't play one singles match and neither did he this year...all doubles, all with him...

I agree! I was proud to move up; it seems like the older guys tend to view it as a curse more. For me it is more important to play good tennis than to win every time.

The guy I won my last open doubles tournament with also won the 5.0 draw in Sonoma and he got bumped down to 4.5.
Our 5.0 team will gain Justin Garcia BC he finally got bumped down. (#1 doubles and #2 singles player for Davis)
