So it is a Dunlop ball and the color is said to be more visible to TV viewers. I wonder if it will be available to the public!
Here is another link to Tiriac speaking about why a blue court is more visible to a yellow ball.

Yeah, but blue balls on a blue court will definitely not work. This seems like a joke at this point. Are you sure that this site is not pulling our leg?
Permalink Reply by Tim Prapong on May 7, 2012 at 3:39pm I'm thinking he's going to keep the red clay and use the electric blue balls next year. That combo would have contrast. hehe
Permalink Reply by Cordell on May 7, 2012 at 4:00pm So they're going to do blue clay AND blue balls?? I watched Serena's match and the balls were yellow =/
Permalink Reply by Tim Prapong on May 7, 2012 at 4:05pm Just to be clear, next year, it is said to be blue balls with most likely, traditional red clay.
Permalink Reply by Tim Prapong on May 8, 2012 at 12:07am Not a prank. Tiriac is being serious. Believe it or not.
Why then did he waste all this time developing blue clay and installing it on all their courts in the first place? It would have been so much easier just to change the color of the dye iin the felt.... I think it is all for the exposure.

Permalink Reply by Alex Daniels on May 8, 2012 at 7:44pm That's not going to go over well, with the players. I'm not sure if this will actually happen.
Permalink Reply by Tim Prapong on May 9, 2012 at 11:47am The players oughtta protest next year against Tiriac then. No more "Magic Box"!
