Recognize these names, Frederico Gil, Marco Chiudinelli, Benjamin Mitchell? What about these  players, Gilles Simon, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic?

These are just a few players John Isner has successfully defeated this 2012 season. The 6'9, 245lb pound Goliath has show that David's odds or not looking to great this year. WIth a record of 17-6, and four of those coming off of clay. Johns victory over Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and going five sets with Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros last year, one has to think that John is the leading Dark Horse going into the French open.

@ Bryan Tuck. C'mon now. Win all four majors? If Mac or Sampras couldn't do it, I don't see Isner doin' it. He might get only one, and only that.

Win all four, but not in the same calendar year right?  Well Agassi did it.  It came after a very long period where no one had done it, and now you can add Rafa and Fed to that mix.

Well, do you really see Isner doin' that, Mark? I don't.

No way, It's hard to win one major with the Big Three, I don't think he's going to win all four with these guys still playing.

No, I don't think he could do it.  Even without the big four I don't think he would be able to do it.  I think that once these guys are gone, you might see a reversal to the old specialists of the different surfaces, like back in the day, when it was almost a guarantee that either a south American or a Spaniard would win the French and everyone else battled for the faster courts.  Of course that may all be mute if all the courts are getting slower.

The hardcourts are slowed down already, Mark. Even Stakhovsky said in an interview that the grass is laid down backwards to be slower. lol

John Mcenroe said the reason why their is a large shift in why all the euro players are coming up has to do with the ball and courts. They slowed everything down, because of string technology, to make the points longer, so fans who are there and at home can get into the match more. Maybe if the courts were still fast john would win a few.

Kyle, I would totally agree with that, but as the courts are getting slower, I just don't see it.

I think he has one in him! Give him a chance.

I'll give him a chance at the US Open, not Wimby. The balls bounce to low for that tall fella.

Didn't say he couldn't win one, just not all four.  I totally think he would have a chance at the U.S. Open, maybe even Wimby, but that is probably it.

I didn't say he would win all four either, maybe a few....
