I lost my dampener the other day while playing.  It threw my whole game off.  I couldn't play my game without it.  It was messing with my mind.  I can't even play the same with another type of dampener.  I must have MY dampener.  Am I the only one that feels like this?

What kind of racquet do you play with again?

I have a Wilson and my trademark is to turn the W upside down:  M for Mark!  You can borrow this idea.  I won't tell anyone.

Hehehe I LIKE that!  I use a Babalot Aero Pro Drive though

Ever since I switched to old Head racquets, I no longer feel that way anymore. They already have a dampened feel. I used to carry the Sampras ones religiously, because they didn't weigh too much.

Which one do you like best?

Always have a spare Mike.

I like the circular black and yellow Babalot one

Forget the dampeners!  I find them too much dampening.  I've been using a think rubberband and tie it, them trim to the right feel/weight.  It never falls off...and way cheaper than those expensive worthless fancy dampeners!  Also, those dampeners will pop out during a rally! I think Agassi copied me...
Your post reminded me of how I always used a rubber band, kind of following the agassi tradition.  Today I actually don't use dampeners any longer,, I guess habits can change over time.  Good luck finding your dampener.
Dampeners have been around for years. I think it originated as a rubber grommet. Others followed with various material, sponge, dense rubber, various polymers. I liked using a good quality rubber band, it never popped out during play. These days, I use the rubber bands often found to bundle fresh veggies and produce.
Oh yes totally understand. Babolat O dampener without the insert, nothing else seems to give me the right feel and can completely knock me off my game.
I use a Prince EXO3 Graphite MP, and although I started out using a string dampener, I find I like the strings to twang a bit for "feel" (not to be confused with the tinny vibration some other racquets have).  Thus I no longer use a dampener, not that there's a whole lot of twang to begin with, unlike my POG (OS).
You already know that I use a rubber band buddy!  My stringer puts em' on every time I get my stick strung!  ;)
