Recently I've had really bad heal pain.  It generally hurts after I play.  It's even worse when I wake up in the middle of the night or in the early morning.  I can barely walk on it when the pain is there.  Any thought of what it may be?  Has anyone had this before?  Any remedies?  Help!!!!!

you have to get the proper orthodics, stretch,or get a cortisone shot and stop playing tennis until it heal at least 5 months.

Stop playing for 5 months? Oh heck no, that's not an option for me haha. Hmmm... who got the hook up on some cortisone? hehe No, but for real, it's been bothering me for some time now, and I can barely walk at night or in the morning.
where can i get these?
I agree with Yulanda, you need rest, that is the only way you will be able to completely cure it, and then you need to get some good shoes and probably orthodics. Good luck.
Thanks Mark. Shoot, I don't want to rest it. I wanna PLAY!!!! What kind of shoes do you think I should get? Do you think those "DR. Shoels" inserts at CVS are sufficient?
No, not the Dr. Shoels, go to a good shoe store, the kind that sizes your feet, puts them on a monitor to see where your pressure points are, and they are the ones that can get you a good pair of Orthodics. They are expensive, but well worth it. When you play you also need something that will be tight so your feet don't slip, as that can also be the cause of some of your problems. But at the same time roomy for your toes, otherwise you will create another whole set of problems. Honestly, I have tried a bunch of different shoes, have had heel problems, arch problems etc... and since I made the switch to the Addidas Barricade IIs I have had no problems. I think that is why they are still on the market, despite the fact that Addidias is now on it's 6th version of the shoe.
Mark, I have wide flat feet with no arch. I've heard that the Barricades are narrow. Is this true? Would you consider yourself to have wide or narrow feet? High arches or no arches?
I have somewhat wide feet, and lousy arches. Thus the orthodics. I know the later versions of the Barricades are indeed narrow, the II's don't seem to be. Try them at least
It's getting worse now. After I play, if i sit in a chair and lift my feet off the ground, the pain is almost unbearable. Frustrating.
I think I have to take a break from tennis and let this thing heal. I love tennis, but I can't live with this pain much longer...
Get an xray....could also be a bone spur.....doc will give you cortisone shot for pain....
Everyone giving you good advice.....the bone spur is giving you the inflammation yulanda talks about....if the pain is unbearable you might be needing the shot I speak of but also to heal this you need rest and to prevent this from happening again you need Shoes that will prevent this from happening again.....
