You know, a linesman or an umpire or just the local official that walks the courts during tournaments to make sure everything is going smoothly? Could you see yourself doing this?

Permalink Reply by Bill Patton on December 28, 2011 at 9:49am I was a USTA Tournament Referee for many years, it was cool, because you have an impact on teaching sportsmanship, and protecting good kids from bad kids. Going to Rookie School to be a Linesperson on the other hand violated my attention span... Linesperson is a tough job and requires a certain personality, you have to be a perfectionist.
