Two weeks ago, I used to have 4 Head IG Prestige Pros and 5 Tecnifibre TFight 325s. I would use the Prestige for doubles because of it's head light whippy underpowered goodness. And on other days, I would use the Tecnifibres whenever I wanted to dominate with my Western spin game. Now I've found the racquet that combines both characteristics in one package!

The Graphene Prestige Pro was 11.6 oz strung with overgrip as compared to 11.8 oz with the IG Prestige Pro. Where I felt the IG Prestige Pro lacked stability in the hoop, the Graphene had the hoop stability of the wider beamed Tecnifibre.

I was literally whipping the head faster as a result without having the tweener's characteristic trampoline effect. Everything came out even more controlled than the heavier Innegra predecessor with more drive. Perhaps Head's claim that Graphene is the world's strongest material per square inch was indeed true!

So I still had the feel of a Prestige but the stability of the Tecnifibre at a reduced weight. My forehand returns were more explosive and my flat serves picked up more speed. Even my high one handed backhands had greater zip.

Don't take my word for it. Everyone who had been playing doubles with me noticed the change too! So I of course got rid of my old racquets for three of these gems.
Passionate Vintage Racquet Collector Spent $15k So Far!tag:tennisopolis.com,2013-06-08:1869403:Topic:10489782013-06-08T22:32:30.717ZMark / The Mayorhttp://tennisopolis.com/profile/archibot

the Story of the steam 99s

Ok so I'm sitting there listening to marketing materials. Waiting to get on Court to test the racquet. Wilson explains that they test the RPMs of the ball using a Doppler radar that was designed for golf originally and was transformed to tennis. the Doppler radar accurately counts the RPM for the ball when hit with spin.

Now here comes the fun. the Counter play test racquet was a popular racquet with a player who may or may not be injured with knee problems currently. They gave me that racquet "air bolate" ( hehe) & i got about 2900 RPM with the Counter test racquet. my score of 2900 was higher than everyone there even the other players and coaches who used the steam 99s. Then they gave me the steam 99s and I got a 10% increase in Spin 3190 RPMs. my fastest shot was 85 MPH all forehands steam & air o BABYlatte. Now think... with a 10% increase of spin I was able to hit the ball Higher Deeper with more consistency, How will this help you, just imagine that you get 10% better, how much more can you win.

This racquet will be a major game changer for allot of tennis players male female & Juniors in 2013.

Now what sold me on this racquet isn't the marketing from Wilson, & not me being a Wilson guy. What Sold me was a miss hit that i made with the Steam 99s, that I was able to pull back in on the baseline using the steam 99s.

Ex. or what happened with the miss hit.

I had a shot where i didn't get close enough to the ball. I have a whipping trick that helps me add spin and pull the ball down and in sometimes. However this situation felt like one of those times where the ball will be just out and sail little long and it didn't to my surprise. The ball took a heavy curve down to hit the baseline.

I was thinking WOW i need a Tour version heavy like my Prostaff 90's. Wilson guys said no i cant have one and they will not make one, but i can lead tape it. ;'-( (boo hoo).

I feel that if i can get a 10% percent increase of spin on my ball i will make less errors, if i make less errors I will win more ( now all the Wilson marketing makes sense cause that's their marketing this year lol aka win more )

if you would like to order early or have more questions about how to string the racquet or anything related to the 2013 line ups for Wilson let me know. thanks for your time

Sincerely

I know this must vary widely depending on the rank of the player (Roger and Nadal surely get paid the most. But how much?) I've never had a good grasp on how much the racquet endorsements are worth. All I know is that Davydenko and Prince fought long and hard about it when he spent all that time at #4 in the world. They paid him much less than other players ranked lower....

So, currently I'm playing with a Babolat AeroPro Drive GT and I'm somehow satisfied about it. I have another Head Youtek Pro Prestige (Wawrinka racket of choice) that I just got it but somehow it fits better my game the Babolat. Actually I was going for that Head racket because of better balance (6 points HL) and smaller head (98 vs 100 for Babolat) and in the end for me the Head YPP is a very good racket, quite close to the Cortex AeroPro of Babolat but with better control and less power... What I enjoyed a lot in the HYPP is the whip feeling and the very good head speed for top spin especially plus the control at the net even the pattern is similar but the smaller head makes the strings density better... Ok, after this introduction I just wanted to say that I want to add few grams in the handle of my APDGT (around 8-10 grams) for more handle balance than now. Why I want that? Because I'm thinking that this will make the racket more maneuverable and I can get more head speed plus the plow through on service. All these are assumptions and I'm really curious if one of you already did that with the same racket or different model and what was the result ;) for me currently the 4 points HL of APDGT are not enough and I want to make the racket at least balanced as the Cortex model (5 points HL) even more...

Any ideas?
